Love in Turkish poetry in Ankara
 Valentine’s
Day has been celebrated for the past week with different social
and cultural activities. One of these was a special program in
Ankara’s Turk-American Association. Two giant names united for
“Türk Şiirinde Aşk” (Love in Turkish Poetry) on Monday. The
program which previously had been staged in London last week
featured Professor Talat Halman, a renowed writer, translator and
Turkey’s first Culture Minister; and Yıldız Kenter…
Proffessor
Halman is known with his beautiful translations of poetry. The
night at the Turk-American Association was a beautiful rendition
of Turkish poetry from two masters. The audience which crammed
into the hall, included various important names such as Proffessor
İhsan Doğramacı, the founder of the Higher Education Board (YÖK)…
