"İhsan Doğramacı Memorial Lecture 2012" will take place on November 12th, Monday, with the participation of esteemed scientists Prof. Dr. Peter Walter and Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil. The program will start at the Bilkent Concert Hall at 3:30 p.m. with a mini concert, followed by lectures, and end with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

Prof. Dr. Walter, discovered a signaling pathway ensuring homeostasis of an important intracellular metabolic hub, the endoplasmic reticulum. Prof.Dr. Hotamışlıgil, defined obesity associated endoplasmic reticulum stress and chronic inflammatory response contributes to the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases. With these complementing discoveries, the two researchers have taken their places in the history of science.
